Cinnamon and Banana Waffles – 0sp

Cinnamon and Banana Waffles – 0sp

I got a ‘Four in One’ grill of my OH’s Mam a long time ago and so this morning when I went to make banana pancakes I thought ‘I wonder if they would work in the waffle maker?’ and what do you know, they did!!

If you don’t have a waffle maker you could use the same mixture to make pancakes. Just pop the mixture in a pancake shape into a hot frying pan sprayed with 1kal, cook, flip, cook and serve!

Either way is a great option to satisfy your sweet tooth without being naughty and they are so quick and simple to make.

Ingredients

Makes 2 waffles = 0sp (Flex)

1 banana, mashed

2 eggs, beaten

1/4 tsp cinnamon

1 tbsp fat free natural yoghurt

Spoonful of raspberries to taste

Method

Pre heat your waffle maker/pan.

Pop your banana into a bowl and mash. Then add the eggs and beat everything well together. Then add the cinnamon and mix again.

Pop the mixture onto the grill plates, close the lid and leave for between 8 and 10 minutes.

Take out and serve with natural yoghurt and raspberries (or which ever fruit you fancy).

Enjoy!

  • Hi
Just wondered how this comes to 2sp when 2 eggs are in ingredients? Thanks.

    Hi Laura

Just tried your banana waffles with my new waffle machine (your fault) ? They were lovely and feel like so much more than 2 smart points.
Love your website, I tell my friends about it.
Any chance of a search button?

These are now 0sp with Flex, so I’m adding a few points by drizzling with maple syrup! Yum!

  • Have done these waffles and they are fab

  • Samantha Hutchinson says:

Mine were very floppy, any ideas on how to add some crisp?

    • Hi Samantha, you could try making the pancakes a little thinner in the pan or the mixture itself a little thicker. Make sure the heat isn’t too high and that the base has totally set before you flip x

  • Hi Laura, I keep trying to make these in my waffle maker (non stick) but they stick and fall apart when I try to get them out. Do you have any tips? Yesterday I tried spaying the waffle maker with one cal but it didn’t help. 🙁

    Thanks Sharon
